Earth Day is every day for local company with launch of Encore Program
that keeps quality office furniture out of landfills

SAN ANTONIO — As Earth Day approaches, Office Furniture Liquidations is launching its Encore Program to bring back the best furniture, keeping quality, used furniture in the office and out of the landfills.

Office Furniture Liquidations (OFL) offers high-quality, used, commercial-grade office and hotel furniture acquired through business liquidations, remodels, or real estate lockouts. Premium prices were already paid by the original owners, so buyers get name brand furniture such as Steelcase, Knoll, and Herman Miller for a fraction of the new retail price.

OFL’s Encore Program is a selection of high-quality furniture tagged for priority resale when the customer is ready to move on. If the product remains in quality condition, OFL will return the inventory to the showroom for the next customer to purchase.

“Our business model has helped businesses downsize their office space and employees create productive work-from-home offices,” OFL CEO Erik Darmstetter.
“In doing so, we have been able to make an impact on our regional environmental footprint by saving high-quality furniture. In fact, OFL reduces the amount of unnecessary waste from entering the landfill by more than 300,000 square feet annually.”

According to 2018 research by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), each year, Americans throw out more than 12 million tons of furniture and furnishings, and of that, more than 9.9 million tons of furniture were landfilled.

Earth Day is April 22. The 2022 theme is “Invest in Our Planet,” and is focused on accelerating solutions to combat our greatest threat, climate change, and to activate everyone – governments, citizens, and businesses – to do their part. Earth Day encourages all to recognize our collective responsibility and to help accelerate the transition to an equitable, prosperous green economy for all.
